I decided a few weeks ago to just do a Staycaction August 5-9. Jason wasn't able to take off and we had thought about the beach or Gatlinburg with mom, but decided not to. A hurricane actually hit the beach this week.
Monday, I took the kids to Moo Moo Golf and Sweet Frogs.
Tuesday, we had hoped to go to the Great Wolf Lodge but they were sold out of day tickets that day, so I made them for Wednesday. Then Karen called saying she had Miranda so we decided to take her!
We picked her up Tuesday afternoon and went to the Crawdads game that night.
It was cloudy and very pleasant!
Great Wolf Lodge on Wednesday! So glad Miranda came since she and Hallie we at the same thrill level. God knew best in us going on Wednesday!
This was very fast so I did it once, girls did it 3 times.
The wave pool was small but fun!
This was like an obstacle course. Mom said Justin did this like 20 times when I was doing other stuff with the girls
The ride Hallie & Miranda liked the best was called
River Canyon Run. It was a raft ride where you sat inside the raft.
I was the one going backwards the first two times, then Hallie wanted to.
Mom ended up riding with them 3 times and I did like 5-6 times!
The stairs to climb to get to it were the worst!
Miranda spent another night with us and we went to Skateland for the day skate.
I didn't pay much to get in since I had two free skates, but did in food!
Friday, we went down to Karen's pool but they ended up riding the golf cart a lot!
I had been in touch with Kim, our old neighbor, about going to Carowinds this weekend,
so we were able to meet her and 3 of the kids, Otto, Mabel, and Arden on Saturday.
It wasn't as crowded as I had thought it would be and we only felt the heat around 3:00.
We were able to ride the Goldrusher multiple times with Hallie first thing in the morning and she and Jason did another time in the afternoon.
Then, the kids including Justin did the scrambler.
Went to the County Fair area to do the Rock N Roller, Do-Si-Do, Swings, a Hangglider ride (which I did with Arden), bumper cards, and this ride called Gyroforce that Justin liked the best!
He did more rides than ever, including the Wilderness Run with Otto. They did the pirate ships, teacups, and Trailblazers cards.
The Gyroforce that Justin said was his favorite!
