More August and Hallie turns 10!!

Videos of the pool!

Hallie wearing the lei that Jason wore at John's funeral.

Earthquake happened on Sunday August 9 at 8:10ish in the morning. The kids were in                                             the family room and said the fan and tv shook!

Silly pic!

We went to Olive Garden for Grandma, Der, and Hallie's birthday, celebrated on August 16th.

Then back to the pool!

End of the first day of school, August 17th, which is remote learning!

Justin's area is at his desk!

Hallie is in the front room/dining room!

Something I found from long ago....

On Saturday, August 22nd, we went up to Linville to see Deda. These are treehouses at Linville Harbor.

We got Boris a few weeks ago for Hallie's birthday present!
He's a happy fish!

Justin slept under this fort he made for a few days.

We went to the Apple Orchard in the afternoon of Friday, August 28th.

We went up to Nana & Papa's to do birthdays for Hallie and Der.
We went shopping earlier that day at Hanes Mall.

The kids loved the sprinkler!

She's TEN!!!

We got tons of calls from family and had the neighbors over
for ice cream cones and cookies. The kids were so busy I didn't
get a chance to take any pics!

She got this from Aunt Deda....Hallie's Treasures

A note that Jason left for her.

Jason went to spend the night with Dean/Karen on Wednesday
Sept 2nd since Dean had a Duke appointment the next day so that meant....

MAMA SLEEPOVER!

Quarantine week and beyond

It was hard to have Jason not be around us during the Quarantine week of July 6th.
He mainly stayed back in the bedroom.

I was able to work from home as much as I could on the computer, so the kids
did watch more than their usual number of movies....

We did get the negative COVID results 6 days after Jason was tested!

The kids made clothes out of plastic bags!  Justin declined a picture.

I had to sleep in a separate room so I bunked with the kids!
We made a fort in Justin's room for half the week and the kids
slept on the floor (me in the bed!)
Hopefully, they'll always say home was the best place,
full of creativity and adventure!

Silly pic!

Enjoying our little pool with tubs now!

Uncle Mike's birthday on July 18th down
at their place in Mint Hill! It ended up being a rainy
evening but they had fun playing air hockey, ping-pong,
and doing the pinata!

We went down to Dean and Karen's pool on Sunday, July 19th.

The kids have loved the grill lately!
We've been doing tons of squash and zuchinni  from our garden
(which theydon't eat but they like preparing!).
We've also enjoyed grilled chicken, one of their favs!

Speaking of the garden, it has exploded!  Lots of squash, zuchinni, and cumcumbers
and we think some catalope will be ready soon!

Jason had ordered some wildflowers months ago
that have finally bloomed!

We have enjoyed having access to a lake area that is near
Deda's house.  This was on July 26th and the waves were very
rough that day due to all the boats, it was almost like the ocean!

We went to the lake again on Saturday, August 1st and down to the pool on Sunday, August 2nd.

Justin is now doing backflips in the water, "diving"and finally jumping in by himself!
They also do cannonballs now!

Hallie likes to jump in the water with Jason!

I attempted to do one of those "recreated" photos.
Alittle more serious expressions, different ipad and Justin has hair now!

The bottom photo is from late September 2015 and
I wrote "Hallie wanted to snuggle with her baby one night!"

But sad news is that we found out Jason's cousin, John, died unexpectantly on July 28th.
We did get to see him at Christmas and I remember he, his girlfriend, and the kids played "5 Second Rule, Jr." and he kept saying answers after his 5 seconds time ran out, which made everyone laugh!
The funeral took place on August 7th.  We will miss you, John!

Jason and I made it to the funeral home just as the police escort began down I-77. We had to follow the last police car since we didn't make it in time and the drive was very interesting...I drove!

This is the police officers taking the casket out at the church.

On the flowers that Linda and Gary did.
Bagpiper lead us in the service. The colors were presented by the police.
Charlotte Mecklenburg police stood guard by the casket- four total, as two sets rotated.

This is the flag from the casket given by the CMPD.
This the director of the ATF also giving Joyce a flag.
This the ATF Deputy director from Washington, DC giving Billy John's credentials.

Here are some links to the final sendoff at the Hawaii airport and police escort on
August 6th to Huntersville.
