Disney days 1 and 2

We drove on Sunday June 11, leaving around 6:30am. For dinner that night, we ate at Steak and Shake, one of Liz's favorite places.

Hallie ate a hotdog while the rest of us ate burgers.

Hollywood Studios on Monday.

Our first ride was Star Wars- Rise of the Resistance. Justin was very excited about this ride as we had watched videos about it.

First you are being transported on a Rebel  cruiser with about 20 others which moves a bit but then it's caputured by the Empire.

The cruiser opens and you're "under the command of the Empire" seeing about 50 Storm Troopers moving slightly (the robots are a bit creepy and life like).

Then a door opens and you're being rescued by the Rebels and enter a pod type thing that moves around the Empire ship as you try to escape.

The only unexpected thing was at the end there was a pretty crazy drop before you "fly" out! This is us waiting in line.

Alien spin in Toy Story land.

We watched the Indiana Jones stunt show afterwards and we were on the right side where all the action was, like him busting through the ceiling and where a lot of the fire explosions happened.

We headed over to the Sunset Boulevard area (avoiding the Tower for Terror. Lol!)

Cruz from Cars!

Lightning McQueen Racing Academy where he talks, and a race happens on the screens.

We saw the Beauty and Beast live show after lunch then headed to Star Wars again for the Smugglers Run. It ended up being a longer wait than we had expected but we were inside which was nice since it was hot!

Decorations in the waiting lines.

For this ride you had to have six people which is why there's another boy in the picture.

He was very helpful as he'd been on the ride before. Jason and Hallie were the pilots, he and Mom were the gunners, and me and Justin were in the back as the engineers to repair the ship if we got hit or crashed.

You were in the cockpit of the Millennium Millennium Falcon and it had a screen showing you how you're flying...

But our pilots kept crashing us into things so the ride was quite bumpy. I laughed about the whole time. Justin was a trooper on it; he didn't like it as much as we had thought!

After this Hallie and Jason headed over to the Slinky rollercoaster which unfortunately broke down so they weren't able to ride it. Hallie  had such a good attitude about it.

But during that time, the three of us
saw the 3D Muppet Show which was enjoyable.

Justin bought a hat that has a logo from all four parks and some Stormtrooper sunglasses.

Magic Kingdom on Tuesday.
We took the monorail to the park.

Cast at the castle.

We went to Tomorrowland first. We bought the lightning pass so we were able to get on the Buzz Lightyear ride right away, where you shoot a gun with a laser at alien targets and it records your points.

The Space Mountain stand by wait was only 45 minutes so Jason and Hallie did that while the three others went to the Tomorrowland Speedway where Justin drove the car!

Aladdin Magic Carpet Ride- there's a camel that spits out water on you during the ride.

Next we used our lightning pass for the Haunted Mansion, ate lunch, then headed to the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.

It had been closed all morning so we were lucky to only have about a 45 minute wait for it.

I told the kids there was a hill right at the beginning.  The kids loved it but I had forgotten that you go down the hill in the dark!

The kids and I climbed up the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse!

I had signed up to do Big Thunder Mountain Railroad around 2:00 but while we're waiting on the Pirates ride we noticed it was temporarily down and then it took away the lightning pass so I ended up booking Hallie and Jason to do Space Mountain again around 4:15.

We saw the Tiki bird show which is little robotic birds that sing, "Tiki tiki Tiki tiki Tiki Room"and a lower voice bird that sings "tweet tweet tweet." Justin thought it was hilarious!

Jason and I can't do spinny rides so thankfully mom can and did the Mad Hatter tea party cup ride with the kids.

Then we went to the Monsters Inc Laugh Floor which is an Interactive show.

At the beginning, they point out people from the audience on a screen and Jason got pointed out saying "has the urge to get up and dance" but he wouldn't do it.

He just laughed.... too bad he couldn't have channeled his inner Dean!

The show does jokes as you're trying to capture enough laughter to open the doors to get out!

Then we did the Carousel of Progress, which is a rotating theater showing robotic scenes showing how technology has changed.  It's something that Walt Disney had done at the World's Fair in 1964.

We got to do the lightning pass for Jason and Hallie to do Space Mountain one more time which took them about 15 minutes.

Then we saw there was an 85 minute wait for the Seven Dwarfs Mine ride so me, Hallie, and Jason decided to wait which was totally worth it!

It was like the Gold Rush ride at Carowinds but 5x better..not too bad drops but a lot of curves going fast! In the middle of the ride you go through a mine with the animatronic dwarfs singing the mine song. It helps you catch your breath!

I had texted mom before we got on the ride that we were in rows 3 and 4.

She took a video thinking it would take awhile for us to come but the first one she did was us!

Jason is in the blue shirt with his hands in the air and Hallie had her hands up too.  This was at the end of the ride.
